Affirmative Action
White Americans are losing there jobs and the
politicians need a scapegoat. An easy target as always
is minorities and women. So they attacked affirmative
action even though it was not made known to them that
the reason they are losing jobs is because big
business is downsizing and moving their factories and
plants to third world countries (we'll save that one
for another commentary). Affirmative action is a
government funded program where companies have a quota
to fill. The quota calls for them to hire a certain
number of women and minorities, so maybe finally they
can get a leg up in our wonderful capitalist
heaven(laying on the sarcasm). So the politicians say
that this is taking jobs away from white males, and
the white males bought it hook, line, in sinker.(its
easy for us to blame women and minorities without
feeling like racists or sexists). So California passed
proposition 209 banning affirmative action and
claiming that there was no longer a race problem.
saying we were playing on a "level playing field". oh
wait you may remember a little thing called the LA
race riots in 1992. But no no we don't have a race
problem.
